lady_moon | Surprise Party in Room 1

Moon and Miniver have been working hard since Mia had taken Draco out on their date.

Decorations (in the colours Miniver had suggested instead of Moon's rainbow idea) are hung in the room. Crepe paper braids of orange, greyish blue, and green streak the ceiling. Moon's put up little paper decorations of cakes, balloons, and cartoonish animals dancing. Along with the cardboard balloons, there are huge groups of orange, grey-blue, and green helium balloons scattered all over.

On a table, with a colourful tablecloth depicting very happy cats and dogs partying, is the cake Skill had artfully created for Draco. It's wide sheet cake; the white icing is the basis for the artistically piped images of Martin and Dart flying over a huge forest full of winding paths. The forest ended where the words 'Happy Birthday, Draco!' were written in flowing script. It was the sort of cake a tarot card would make.

Moon giggles as she sets a stack of gifts (all from her family for the birthday boy) on the table beside the cake. She turns to Miniver and grins.

"I hope he's surprised," she says proudly.

It was definitely bright and cheerful and there's glitter everywhere, including on Miniver and Moon.

She nuzzles his hand a little.

"No, I'm sorry. You had to know sooner or later, but this didn't have to be the time and place for you to find out."

She takes his hand again and moves closer to him to dance again.

"I think I owe you another dance after all that."

Draco took her by the waist to dance again, and couldn't resist remarking hopefully, "Perhaps even a little more than just another dance?"

He keeps trying.

"Well, a little more can't hurt," she admits right before she kisses him.

There's that wicked glint of glee in his eyes again, and he pulled her closer. Kissing back as they danced, little tugs at her bottom lip, a brief touch of tongue.

Boy, hope one of them knows where they're going. Or that everyone else will have the courtesy to get out of their way. Dancing and kissing can be dangerous.

Well, they had moved a bit slower now, and Draco was trying to guide a little. In fact their dancing soon slowed to rocking back and forth in time to the music while they kissed again.

Hey, it's his birthday, he's entitled to birthday smooches.

Now hopefully he won't be so bold as attempt to swallow her tonsils or be very obvious about it for Mia's sake.

Damn, that breathing problem that always seems to crop up is back.

But Mia has an idea of how to deal with this.

She pulls away, barely and briefly to get a little air, and goes back to kissing.

One who wasn't paying much attention wouldn't be able to tell that she stopped.

Ah, excellent, and he's sneaking breaths in between kisses as well. Very tempted to suggest taking a break from the party... but staying out here would keep him from behaving too badly.

Mostly. Or he'll just try to be subtle about it. Like his hands at her waist at the moment. One might have slipped downward slightly. Barely an inch at that.

She pulls away, her lungs no longer satisfied with quick breaths.

"By Althena, you are incorrigible."

Draco smirked back at her, and leaned over to whisper at her ear.

"So what if I am? Are you going to do something about it?"

Was that a brief nip to her earlobe just then? Considering it's Draco, very good chance it was.

She masks her reaction with a little sigh.

"Well, I could always say no."

And when she says that, she pulls herself into a proper dancing frame with him, giving them some space between them.

That smile is.....

Oh, who are we kidding? That smile is sexy.

And he masked his surprise with his fox-like grin. She's a tease, and fun.

And yes, that smile definitely was. Tempting him to take them both somewhere private.

They danced for a few moments, and he leaned toward her, his voice a bit lower.

"Though...Would you really want to?" Very fox-like expression, his grey eyes glinting merrily with wicked humor.

"Perhaps. It wouldn't really be fair if I yield completely to you, would it? It's nice to know I have the freedom to, even if I may never exercise it."

He pouted a little, but then replied, "I suppose not. If you want to play, we can play." And he spun her around quickly as they danced, tugging her closer again for a moment.

She's not stopping him from doing that.

Unfortunately, she's beginning to think Harry was right. She might very well be crazy for loving Draco.

But then, this is the same girl who thinks gorgons are cute and is fascinated by umbrellas. It's likely she was a little crazy before anyway.

Not like he's all that sane either. Mentally still recovering from last year, and considering his family? Not the most stable bunch around. Blame the inbreeding for keeping bloodlines pure.

He didn't anything more than that, just going along with dancing again for now.

"Honestly, I'd ask what am I going to do with you, but I've already heard your answer to that."

That he blushed a slight pink, "Er... yes, right."

She kind of likes being the one not blushing for a change.

"That is what I like about you, you know? How you have always been able to take the initiative with us, even if you're a little afraid yourself."

He just shrugged at that, "Nothing wrong with being careful though." Sort of. He was rather rash.

"Sure. Careful. Right."

That's why he was busy tongue wrestling with her before.

"Careful on some things... like things that can change your life," he quietly replied as he glanced back at her.

"I know."

Have they always been dancing that close?

Maybe not quite that close, but currently just focused on her eyes. Noticing how some of the fringe hangs just so. He briefly reached up, to brush a strand away from her face.

She closes her eyes at his touch.

And then gives him another kiss.

Maybe he can trade in his dances for kisses?
