Moon and Miniver have been working hard since Mia had taken Draco out on their date.

Decorations (in the colours Miniver had suggested instead of Moon's rainbow idea) are hung in the room. Crepe paper braids of orange, greyish blue, and green streak the ceiling. Moon's put up little paper decorations of cakes, balloons, and cartoonish animals dancing. Along with the cardboard balloons, there are huge groups of orange, grey-blue, and green helium balloons scattered all over.

On a table, with a colourful tablecloth depicting very happy cats and dogs partying, is the cake Skill had artfully created for Draco. It's wide sheet cake; the white icing is the basis for the artistically piped images of Martin and Dart flying over a huge forest full of winding paths. The forest ended where the words 'Happy Birthday, Draco!' were written in flowing script. It was the sort of cake a tarot card would make.

Moon giggles as she sets a stack of gifts (all from her family for the birthday boy) on the table beside the cake. She turns to Miniver and grins.

"I hope he's surprised," she says proudly.

It was definitely bright and cheerful and there's glitter everywhere, including on Miniver and Moon.

Miniver nods, dancing close to Draco. "Yeah, I do. What about it?"

"I suppose this night ending up exactly like that would be very bad right now, wouldn't it?" He grinned.

"It would only be bad," Miniver murmurs, "if we forget to charge admission for the show." A grin, and a light nibble to his ear.

Draco made a small sound at that, and grinned, "Mmm...Intriguing idea. Trying to behave a little though."

"Really? You? Why? I was under the impression you were trying to get yourself killed by the age of twenty." He gets a little tickle.

"I wasn't trying. I just end up with a lot of volunteers to do it. Ah!" He squirmed at the tickling.

Miniver dips Draco as he squirms, then tugs him back up quickly. "And a lot of volunteers to do other things to you, hmm?"

Draco laughed a little at that, "Well, there is that too. Can't help if I'm irresistible."

"Then it's a good thing I'm here to keep them from beating down the doors and rending you to pieces, isn't it?" Another quick kiss to Draco's nose.

"Oh definitely," he beamed back.

"You're not going to be annoyed at me for protecting you?" Miniver asks, teasing.

"Try to stay in one piece if you do, please?" Partly joking, but also partly serious.

"Pff. Have I ever not?"

Draco thought about it, and then admitted, "...All right, right now you have a better record than me, true."

"I have never yet been injured. At least, not by anything more serious than a bird bite. For good reason, really. I don't like pain. Except for you. You're all the pain I can handle." He grins.

"That's because I give plenty of pleasure with the pain," Draco grinned, and leaned in to nip and lick at Miniver's earlobe to demonstrate.

The dance is nearly forgotten now, just swaying with the music as he purrs.

"Oh, and how you do..."

They were dancing? He seemed to have forgotten for the moment, warm breath against Miniver's neck. Suckling kisses with tantalizing licks and brief sharp teeth. Seemed to be demonstrating how he combined the two at the moment.

He purrs and nuzzles and kisses back, forgetting anybody might be watching.

Or perhaps... a small part of him was hoping Mia was.

Draco was getting lost in the moment, briefly closing his eyes.

He then remembered where he was again. He glanced up, almost responding to Miniver's unspoken thought. No, Mia was still dancing, but the sight of her still caused him to stop for a moment.

Miniver follows Draco's glance and nods.

"You should go dance with her," he says softly, stepping back a little.

Draco glanced back at him. He smiled. Another kiss, briefer this time.

"Thank you. I'm sorry." And then headed over (http://fortunes-phase.livejournal.com/4127.html?thread=244767#t244767) to Mia.
