Well... perhaps not non-threatening, as Star's power is more than obvious to the perceptive vampire, but that power doesn't feel to be focused on him in a way that will harm him. Contrarily, the joy and pride on her face that is directed at him takes him a bit off guard. He wonders what about him makes that particular expression pop up on her face.
"Good evening, Star."
He doesn't bother giving his name in return. He knows that she already knows it... along with more information than he would likely want her to know. There is nothing he can do about that, though, so he lets it go. The sea makes him too happy to worry about things that are out of his hands.
