Damian is grateful, regardless of Asher's reasoning, which he can only guess at. He gives a final squeeze to Asher's shoulder before settling back against the blanket he sits on.
Perhaps Nathaniel will join them later, perhaps not. For now, he is content to lounge near the fire by Asher.
