Moon looks up from the couch when she hears the door open.

"Charlie?"

But she stops, half peeking above the couch back, her green eyes wide as she sees Ruin give Jason a shove in, offer her a wink, and then close the door. The viewscreen is prattling on with some romantic movie that has been making her laugh, and she hears Mare's low warning growl when the wolf sees Jason.

Moon is naked.

Completely and utterly, settled with a bunch of blankets on the couch. Charlie had told her she didn't have to wear clothes here, and so she hasn't.

She hadn't been expecting company.

Moon stares at Jason, noticing all the subtle differences in him since she'd last seen him, and then her eyes meet his, but she doesn't have any words for him.

So she stays there, kneeling on the couch facing him.

He shakes his head slowly. "No. I like having you around. I'll tell you right up front: I'm not making any promises. I'm working on letting go of Khem, but I loved her; I still love her and if she came back tomorrow, I couldn't promise that I wouldn't want to see how this all could work out. But I'm not going to sit in a corner and watch someone slip by who I'm very much attracted to."

"I can see you again?"

This seems to be the only thing she's concerned with at the moment.

His expression softens. "Of course you can. As much as you want. I want to see you more; I want to see how things work between us now that I'm clean."

Her eyes shine in the bedroom light, and it's tears that make them sparkle.

"I've missed you. You were my wolf, and then you weren't, and everyone was angry and no one was happy."

"I know."

He sees and smells the tears, so he takes a step in the room and holds his arms up in offering.

"I'm working on it; things will get better. They already are a lot better." He gives her a small smile. "Still your wolf, Lady."

There is only a moment of hesitation before she steps forward, crossing the small space between them and pressing her face against Jason's neck. Her arms wrap around his waist, hugging him tightly as she sniffles.

"My wolf," she murmurs.

He holds her tight, his face pressed against her hair as he murmurs softly in her ear.

"It'll be ok now; everything will be fine."

He holds her and breathes in the scent of her, surprised how untainted his memories of her were by the cocaine: she really does smell that good.

He pulls back enough to look her in the eye. "Moon, I need to get something off my chest, though. I don't know what you want out of all this, but...I have responsibilities back home. And I enjoy them. So if you want to stick around, I need you to understand that you probably won't be the only one I..." keep it clean, Jay: this is Moon we're talking to. "...smoosh with."

Moon looks at him oddly.

"I wasn't the only one you were smooshing with before."

Had he forgotten that?

Jason shrugs. "What can I say, some women get possessive over a guy if they spend enough time with him. Especially when I get back to looking like I normally do and have to beat the women off me at the club."

He smiles at her. "So we're cool?"

Moon gives a nod, her fingers clenching in his shirt a little.

"I don't want to chain the wolf. I never did. The physical is nice, but it's not what's most important. Ruin told you my secrets. They scare you."

He drops his head almost guiltily. "Yeah, a little," he admits. "With just getting over Khemrys, and the drugs and everything that's happened...I just want some time to get to know you, Moon. I don't want to barrel headfirst into a serious relationship."

His hand raises up to just barely cup her cheek. "I appreciate it that you understand that much about me, though. You willing to give me some time to just be with each other for awhile, no pressure for anything more?"

She leans into that touch, her eyes closing as she inhales his scent, a scent she's missed.

"What more could I want?" she asks.

The old Jason who'd been missing for so long pokes through, throwing a mischievous grin at her.

"I don't know, a kiss might be nice. If you wanted one."

She smiles at him.

"Kisses are nice."

Moon pushes up on her toes a little and kisses him, a quick peck on the lips.

He rolls his eyes up, considering. "Yeah, that was a nice kiss."

He grins and leans forward, pressing his nose gently against hers. "Think I could steal another? I'm a greedy wolf."

Moon giggles, wrinkling her nose a little.

"You can't steal what's freely offered," she murmurs.

He doesn't overdo it: this is supposed to be an apology visit and besides that, the full moon is only a couple days away. And while she could easily handle his beast, he'd rather not ask her to do that for his benefit.

That being said, he presses his mouth gently to hers, lips pulling ever so slightly at hers as he repeatedly reminds himself to keep it simple.

Moon moans softly, returning those kisses as her arms move to wrap around his neck. His scent is like forest and wolf and Jason, something wonderfully warm and familiar. She sighs against his lips, her fingers teasing his hair a little as she settles comfortably against his body.

There's a pleased moan against her mouth, and he presses his lips once more to hers before trailing them across her chin.

"I've missed you," he murmurs. His hands rest on her hips, fingering the cloth there. "And I should probably step back right about now because I'm more than a little aware that you're wearing nothing but Charlie's shirt."

She tilts her head, offering him her throat instinctively. It pleases her that he's missed her, because she's missed him.

"Is that a bad thing?" she asks, her voice a little breathy.

His heart races as his lips trail along her throat, hovering over the pulse there. He chuckles deeply.

"I was trying to be respectful and not jump you right after coming to apologise for jumping you."

His lips close gently over that pulse. "Not to mention I still don't have the greatest control in the world since I nearly killed myself."

Moon gives a quiet, choked moan when his lips touch her neck. Her fingers tighten in his hair a moment.

"You want to leave."

She doesn't say it shortly or huffily, just a quiet admission that Jason was trying to be as much a gentleman as the wolf could be.

Jason smiles, very gently sucking that pulse between his lips before speaking.

"Nope. I don't want to leave. I want to stay here and spend the night showing you just how sorry I am. But I probably should leave."

Though he's already showing signs that separating their bodies might be easier said than done.

She certainly isn't untangling herself from him. Moon is not well-versed in self-restraint.

"Why should you leave?" she asks, shivering against him while pressing up back towards his mouth with her throat.

"Because it's the right thing to do."

One of his hands drifts lower, brushing a bare thigh, and it pulls a deep rumbling in his throat.

"Fuck it, when do I ever do the right thing? Do you want me to stay?" His tongue darts out, tracing a wet line up her throat.
