lady_moon | Surprise Party in Room 1

Moon and Miniver have been working hard since Mia had taken Draco out on their date.

Decorations (in the colours Miniver had suggested instead of Moon's rainbow idea) are hung in the room. Crepe paper braids of orange, greyish blue, and green streak the ceiling. Moon's put up little paper decorations of cakes, balloons, and cartoonish animals dancing. Along with the cardboard balloons, there are huge groups of orange, grey-blue, and green helium balloons scattered all over.

On a table, with a colourful tablecloth depicting very happy cats and dogs partying, is the cake Skill had artfully created for Draco. It's wide sheet cake; the white icing is the basis for the artistically piped images of Martin and Dart flying over a huge forest full of winding paths. The forest ended where the words 'Happy Birthday, Draco!' were written in flowing script. It was the sort of cake a tarot card would make.

Moon giggles as she sets a stack of gifts (all from her family for the birthday boy) on the table beside the cake. She turns to Miniver and grins.

"I hope he's surprised," she says proudly.

It was definitely bright and cheerful and there's glitter everywhere, including on Miniver and Moon.

Miniver has his hidden. He brings it out when he has Draco a little to himself for a moment.

Into Draco's hands gets shoved a small, square package, neatly wrapped in brown paper and twine. The paper's been decorated with squiggles in gold ink. It's actually kind of pretty.

Draco does in fact get a free moment, and of course, he'd make sure to have one for Miniver.

He couldn't help chuckling at the package. He held it up for a moment.

"Very you. Thank you." A brief embrace and kiss before he unwrapped it.

Miniver grins and leans his head against Draco's shoulder for a moment.

Inside the package is a little box, and inside that... something that might actually be quite familiar to Draco. A moonstone pendant. But Miniver still has his, wearing it in plain view, and Mia has the one Draco gave her...

Draco picked it up with a small smile, and glanced toward Miniver, "Still trying to protect me, aren't you?"

"Yes. Well. I have something else for you, too, but I'd rather... you know... when there's not so many people about." He leans in to kiss Draco lightly.

Draco's eyebrows quirked upward that, "Oh? Another package to unwrap later?" He grinned before kissing back.

"Mmm. Yeah. Something like that." He smirks coyly. "Something a lot like that."

Draco nearly purred at that, "Can I get a hint?"

Miniver taps Draco's nose.

"No. That'd be telling. Later."

Pout and whimper from the birthday wizard.

"It'll be worth it. I promise," Miniver assures him. "....but god you're cute when you do that."

So Draco does it even more, trying to look as pathetic as possible.

That just makes Miniver laugh and kiss him. "Oh, stop it! You'll see!"

Draco kissed back, and then gave a melodramatic huff, "Oh, all right. Fine, I'll wait."

"Patience is a virtue, lover. So there, I'v taught you an important lesson, too!"

"I know."

He then grinned wickedly, "Does this mean things will be drawn out and slow?"

"Torturously so," Miniver assures him with a cheerful grin.

There was just a pleased shudder at that.

Miniver chuckles at that.

"Later," he whispers into Draco's ear. "Later, I'll make you do that all night..."

Draco closed his eyes for a moment.

"You have any idea how tempted I am to say to bugger the rest of the party, and go have fun right now?" He replied slowly.

"Even with Mia here, all pretty-like?" Miniver asks, partly doubting him.

Draco glanced over at her, and there was longing there.

"Been tempted with her too."

Miniver gives an exaggerated pout.

"Which of us is better, then?"

"Well, you at least take me up on such offers. She's not ready yet."

Still not answering that whole 'who's better' question. It was a trap, and you're screwed no matter what you say.

"Hmph." Miniver kisses Draco again. Probably just as well he doesn't answer. "Well... maybe we'll trade tips sometime, she and I."
