Tarot Beach Party

There are those of the tarot who know how to set up for a party.
Ruin had spent most of the afternoon building the bonfire. He has carefully made it much in the way he would have with the villagers of his mortal life when they would celebrate the harvests. Charity, Unity, and Skill had spent most of the day setting up food, both their sorts of foods and the sorts the sentients would be expecting.
Moon watched it all with rapt fascination, her eyes on the marshmallows Skill told her firmly she isn't allowed to touch yet. But they're white and fluffy looking and Moon is curious. Mons barks at her, warning Skill, and Moon is shooed off.
It's Fortune who puts out blankets, spread all over the beach area for everyone to use. Moon watches her family set up for a party, for guests... real guests who are coming simply to come instead of for answers. She watches Fortune set down a large stack of very warm looking towels, and she grins.
Swimming. Damian will like the swimming.
Her wolves run up and down the beach in excitement, and Moon knows it's time.
Disappearing back to Milliways, she sets it up so people can come and go as they need to, pleased with herself and her family.

Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-02 11:31 pm (UTC)Her attention will be caught at the portraits, stopping in front of them every so often to study them.

Date: 2009-10-03 03:35 pm (UTC)Her head tilts more to smile at him over her shoulder. "It's nice to do things with the whole family every so often?"
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-03 07:56 pm (UTC)Ruin smiles, though, staring at one of Sorrow and him Skill had done when the girl was maybe twelve.
"But it is nice to have the memories there to look at whenever I want."
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-03 08:17 pm (UTC)Her eyes settle on the one he's staring at, smile softening a little. Cute is a word that flits about her mind, in reference to him and Sorrow. At least she doesn't vocalize it?
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-03 09:06 pm (UTC)Ruin chuckles.
"Cute, maybe, but it was about the only time Skill could ever get me to be around Reue. Every year, Skill would make me come home and spend three or four days with Reue, paint a portrait."
Should he get extra credit for the two years he was a single parent before he realized his family was far better suited to raise a little girl than he was?
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-03 10:05 pm (UTC)Her head tilts a little to study him instead of the portrait. "Why didn't you want to spend time around her?"
And yes, he should. Single parenthood is tough.

Date: 2009-10-04 12:12 am (UTC)She lets the look speak for her. It was Reue's choice. And it doesn't seem like she regretted it, or regretted letting this place become home and the Tarot be family. It also says stop that.
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 04:25 pm (UTC)"I love her," he admits. "I always thought I didn't want kids, but then she showed up on my doorstep with that bitch of a mother and... I found out how much I liked being a father to her."
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 04:37 pm (UTC)"Then no wallowing on what contact with you brought her. Just be happy you have her." There's a mock stern tone that is belied by the smile.
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 04:53 pm (UTC)"I am quite happy I have her. I guess she was always going to be one of us."
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 05:03 pm (UTC)She falls quiet next to him, though after a moment she hip bumps Ruin softly.
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 05:53 pm (UTC)"Enjoying yourself, pussycat?"
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 05:59 pm (UTC)She might have stuffed what Sorrow told her to the back of her mind after a point. Something to deal with when not at a party with friends.
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 06:39 pm (UTC)"You know what it means when everything feels perfect?"
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 07:07 pm (UTC)"That there's something lurking just around the corner?" There's a slightly suspicious look with the question.

Date: 2009-10-04 07:42 pm (UTC)"Would you like me to not speak of the 'what's coming' part and let you enjoy the now?" he asks, which is answer enough.
None of them can ignore that part of their sight, some of them just choose not to talk about it.
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 07:50 pm (UTC)Her chin settles on his shoulder, "No, that's not why I asked." She'd just been curious on whether it always shadowed everything with them. "Sorry," she murmurs softly.

Date: 2009-10-04 08:46 pm (UTC)"That's gotta suck at times," she says quietly.
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 10:36 pm (UTC)"Yeah, it actually does."
Re: The Castle
Date: 2009-10-04 10:43 pm (UTC)Though there's the faintest flicker of thought wondering if it's ironic that she's the buzz kill of the mood this time.
