Tarot Beach Party

There are those of the tarot who know how to set up for a party.

Ruin had spent most of the afternoon building the bonfire. He has carefully made it much in the way he would have with the villagers of his mortal life when they would celebrate the harvests. Charity, Unity, and Skill had spent most of the day setting up food, both their sorts of foods and the sorts the sentients would be expecting.

Moon watched it all with rapt fascination, her eyes on the marshmallows Skill told her firmly she isn't allowed to touch yet. But they're white and fluffy looking and Moon is curious. Mons barks at her, warning Skill, and Moon is shooed off.

It's Fortune who puts out blankets, spread all over the beach area for everyone to use. Moon watches her family set up for a party, for guests... real guests who are coming simply to come instead of for answers. She watches Fortune set down a large stack of very warm looking towels, and she grins.

Swimming. Damian will like the swimming.

Her wolves run up and down the beach in excitement, and Moon knows it's time.

Disappearing back to Milliways, she sets it up so people can come and go as they need to, pleased with herself and her family.

Food and Drink

There is a large table set up, a bit away from the bonfire itself, filled with just about any food any one of the visitors who eat could want.

And even some the ones who can't eat might like.

Cold beverages are also available in several oversized pails filled with ice that simply doesn't melt.

Demeter is tired but glad of the chance to visit this world and has brought a basket full of wine and fresh bread and a few other goodies which she sets on the table.

Damian stares at the food and drink. Just... stares.

The two vampires he sees most often (outside of work) both have marks with humans or lycanthropes that allows them to taste and enjoy what he sees in front of him.

Ironic... that he has lived longer than both Jean-Claude and Asher, and yet he will never have the power to exchange the marks with another. Only master vampires have that power.

He thought he had accepted the fact that he would never taste food again, but the smells make him realise that even acceptance can waver at times. Whatever is being served here, he has no doubt that it would taste better than the fare he 'enjoyed' as a warrior from a poor family in the Viking Age.

"And now those?" Anyone used to seeing aloof, icy Asher in St Louis - or Milliways - will be surprised by the teasing smile on Asher's face, the way he pleads with Nathaniel to have just one more bite, just try one more thing. Most of the food that's been laid out he hasn't tasted before - especially the white fluffy things that so intrigue Moon.

Oh dear God, the food. Moon had bragged about Skill's cooking, but...hot damn. Jason is happily stuffing his face, not even bothering to mask the low moans coming from him.

"I am so glad I don't have to work tonight," he announces to no one in particular. "Skill's cooking would put me out of a job if I got to eat it on a regular basis."

By the Bonfine

Ruin had lit the bonfire just as the sun had dipped down and the two waxing moons had risen and the temperate had dropped some. It flickers high into the dusky night, heat and light radiating, illuminating the beach.

Teja likes bonfires. He remembers the bonfire at Atton's birthday, nigh on a year ago, when he first realised, vaguely still, that he felt something about Charlie that was more than the promise he had given Demeter.

And two moons! They make it clear that he is, truly, no longer on Earth. What a lovely pace.

Bonfires aren't something that occur often--or legally--in Charlie's world. As such he's standing by it, watching the flames lick into the night. They've always been a little melancholy to Charlie, watching fires.

He can't quite pin down why.

Jason is by the fire, looking for Yrael. "Yri! We need some music. Anyone of you Tarot play instruments?"

He might attempt banging on a drum if one appears, just for the fun of it.

Asher, much though he may not like to admit it, can't swim. He's left Nathaniel working off some of those calories, swimming happily as Asher sits closer to the fire.

By now there's a few of the tarot playing music, and Asher smiles as he watches people dance by the light of the flames, his elbows on his knees, hair tumbling down his back, salt and the wind making it far less carefully groomed.

Richard is seated by the bonfire, smiling as he listens to the music being played and watches everyone dancing.

For now, he's content to just sit. Watching and listening.

Liz is settled near the bonfire, eyes watching everything around her and smiling. One of the most clear thoughts in her head is that this would be one of the best places to have a warm pile. Especially since they have a fair share of shifters and claimed family around.

Mia sits by the fire, looking up every so often at the two moons. It's almost like her wedding, with the illusion put up of both the Moon and the Blue Star in the sky together, an attempt to make the evening comfortable for guests from both Earth and Lunar.

She starts making little fire flowers, a wreath of them perched on her head.

In the Ocean

The ocean is a perfect shade of jade with frothy waves that gently roll to shore. There is nothing to fear in the dark water, and it just happens to be the perfect temperate, despite the chill of autumn in the air.

Liz is settled close enough that her feet dip into the water. Eyes bright and looking this way and that taking in the Tarot world around her with a smile.

Charlie likes the water color; a clearer green than any of the water that surrounds Manhattan.

He'll be walking aimlessly along the water line, letting the green froth wash over his ankles.

This is what the crimson-haired vampire came for. Even the sight of the ocean sets part of his soul at ease. He stares at it for a long time before climbing down the cliffside and removing his shoes.

The set up for the party is beautiful. He can smell the food, feel the distant heat of the bonfire, and although the colours are a bit off kilter, there is nothing better than the sight of the sea and being able to touch it again.

The first wave to hit his feet on the shore makes him sigh with pleasure, and he greets the second with his hands as well. He doesn't know a lot of the people here, but he doesn't have to. This is the one acquaintance he's been longing to see again.

After a few drinks, how could he resist? Jason peels off his clothes at the beach and darts towards the incoming waves with a joyful shout.

He hasn't been swimming in the ocean since high school.

There's happy challenges to everyone still on shore to get their asses in the water. "Nat, get in here you pussy! You too, Liz!" A wave splashes over him, leaving him sputtering happily. "Moon! Get that sweet ass of yours out here!"

At some point during the day, there is an Ulfric walking along the shore. Just into the water enough that it comes up to his ankles. His shoes had been left somewhere in the sand. He's not too worried about them though. Just enjoying the water and sand.

The Forest

Then there is the forest, a good hike from the beach, with its metallic trees with their shiny leaves. Grasses of colors not found in nature, some not found anywhere but here, where Moon's imagination was allowed to give birth to anything it wanted.

Animals are in the forest, strange things to stumble upon or hunt.

Teja wanders among the trees, remembering the first time he was here, three mere months ago -- but it feels like a lifetime.

The Castle

About a mile down the beach sits a huge castle that juts out over the ocean. Everyone who comes to the party is told the castle can be explored, that all rooms are open to them.

Ancient art is in corners mixed with modern bits of furniture or sculpture. There are portraits of the various tarot who have woken scattered throughout, all from different time periods, all showing a different aspect of the card in the form painted on canvas.

And lining the massive stairwell that leads to all the floors and to the very top of the castle where the battlements can be walked are tapestries. Seventy-eight lining the walls up and up and up, each a card, in order from The Fool to The World, followed by the Suit of Swords, the Suit of Wands, the Suit of Cauldrons, and, finally, the Suit of Cups.

Liz is a curious enough feline that the oppertunity to explore the castle can't be let missed. That and Liz has never stepped foot in a castle and doubts she'll ever get a chance to elsewhere.

Her attention will be caught at the portraits, stopping in front of them every so often to study them.
