Tarot Beach Party

There are those of the tarot who know how to set up for a party.

Ruin had spent most of the afternoon building the bonfire. He has carefully made it much in the way he would have with the villagers of his mortal life when they would celebrate the harvests. Charity, Unity, and Skill had spent most of the day setting up food, both their sorts of foods and the sorts the sentients would be expecting.

Moon watched it all with rapt fascination, her eyes on the marshmallows Skill told her firmly she isn't allowed to touch yet. But they're white and fluffy looking and Moon is curious. Mons barks at her, warning Skill, and Moon is shooed off.

It's Fortune who puts out blankets, spread all over the beach area for everyone to use. Moon watches her family set up for a party, for guests... real guests who are coming simply to come instead of for answers. She watches Fortune set down a large stack of very warm looking towels, and she grins.

Swimming. Damian will like the swimming.

Her wolves run up and down the beach in excitement, and Moon knows it's time.

Disappearing back to Milliways, she sets it up so people can come and go as they need to, pleased with herself and her family.

Jason is slightly startled, but only because he was so engrossed in that forest. He smiles, pulling her arms around his waist from behind him.

"You made it, huh? That must be why it's so sparkly and pretty. And I bet there's not a brown thing to be found in there."

"Not even the dirt," she says, grinning against his shoulder. "Do you want to go in?"

He cranes his neck to kiss her over his shoulder, giving her arms a faint squeeze. "Yeah, I'd love to go in. Want to show your wolf around?"

Moon lets go of him to scamper into the forest, her feet barely making a sound on the grass and fallen leaves.

"There's a tree in here that has the best fruit," she says. "If I can remember where I put it."

Some people lose their carkeys.

Moon loses trees.

Jason laughs out loud, following after her. "What, you can't ask the other trees for directions? Or will they get jealous?"

She gives him a huffy, pouty face.

"It's my forest. I should remember where I put things in it."

He loves that pout on her face. It's adorable.

"You keep tabs on all the sentients: you can give in a little on where you put a tree."

He slows a bit, giving a low whistle at his surroundings. "Moon, this is really beautiful."

Moon smiles at the compliment, looking around her.

"Moonlight, starlight, and sunlight, all trapped in the trees."

She's very close with Star and Sun, and she wanted to show that in the very trees all three shined down on.

"The wolves like running through here."

He snorts. "No wonder Rigel turns his nose up at the forest in Milliways: he's spoiled rotten having this forest to run in."

Not that the young wolf would ever turn down a run with Jason.

He catches up to her, nuzzling her ear from behind. "You did an amazing job. I'd like to run here once."

"Richard mentioned hunting to me," she murmurs with a grin, smiling over her shoulder. "He told me you could all remind me of what shape I'm supposed to be if I let him make the growly thing in me be... me... for a while."

He nuzzles at the long line of her neck, murmuring softly. "You think you could actually shift? Hmm...well, if you want Richard to call your beast and come hunting with us, you go ahead and do it. I'll be here to call you back."

Moon tilts her head, exposing more of her throat with a hum.

"Do you want me to come hunting with you?"

It's for him she'd do it, not Richard.

His lips close over the pulse in her throat, nipping gently. "I would love to hunt with you. But I love running as your wolf at your side just as much. So it's up to you."

His arms tighten around her waist, hugging her to him. "I told you," he murmurs, "everything is so much better with you."

She closes her eyes, simple pleasure at being with him warming her from the inside out.

"We can do both," she murmurs. "This full moon, I'll hunt with you. Next, you can be my wolf at my side."

"I like that," he says. "And I'll even play nice with Richard."

He does like Richard, even if the two clash. It's part of being who and what they are: Ulfric cannot show favoritism to one of his lesser wolves just because they're friends, even if Jason would prefer it.

"So this fruit we're looking for...what's it like?"

Moon comes back to herself, bopping on her feet.

"I remember where it is!"

And she takes off through the woods, laughing at remembering, her feet light as she races over the various colored grasses deeper into the forest.

He starts at her sudden exclamation, then breaks into a wide grin as he watches her dart off through the trees. She is absolutely adorable.

He takes off after her, darting as easily through the trees as he does at home.

Her laughter simply fills the forest as she races through it. After a few minutes, she draws up short in front of a tree.

The tree is different because it's a soft metallic blue, and from its branches hang deep blue-purple fruits. They look a little like pears, but not quite. Maybe like avocados? No, it's not quite right, either. Their shape almost seems to change ever so slightly the longer they're looked at.

"These!" she declares, panting, her cheeks flushed, her eyes bright as she looks up. "I tasted something yummy and purple on one world and I made these fruits to taste just as purpley!"

Jason pokes at one of the fruits cautiously, having come up behind her only slightly winded.

"Purpley, huh? So can I just take one, or do I need to ask this tree permission?"

Having seen her interact with Norman, he won't make assumptions.

Moon giggles.

"This tree always knows people come to eat bits of it." She reaches up and plucks on, handing it to Jason. "It's not a normal tree."

She leans against the trunk, watching him.

Jason accepts it happily, taking a bite without hesitation. He trusts her, after all.

"If you say so: I'm not about to piss off one of your trees."

He chews slowly, savoring the flavor. "I hate to admit it, but you're right: it's very purpley."

There's a happy clap from her.

"I know I'm strange, making forests all metal-y and fruit that tastes purple, but..."

But it's her, who she is inside and out.

He takes another bite and moves to lean against her. "No, you're not strange. You're the Lady. It's how you're supposed to be."

He kisses her softly. "I like you this way."

Moon smiles up at him, tasting the purple on his lips.

"Good, because I don't think I could change," Moon murmurs.

He smiles down at her, amused. "You have, though. But I'm happy with the way you are."

He kisses her again, remember what they'd started in the ocean. "So, would it be in poor taste to smoosh you here in your forest, or should I take you off to find a proper bed?"
