There are those of the tarot who know how to set up for a party.
Ruin had spent most of the afternoon building the bonfire. He has carefully made it much in the way he would have with the villagers of his mortal life when they would celebrate the harvests. Charity, Unity, and Skill had spent most of the day setting up food, both their sorts of foods and the sorts the sentients would be expecting.
Moon watched it all with rapt fascination, her eyes on the marshmallows Skill told her firmly she isn't allowed to touch yet. But they're white and fluffy looking and Moon is curious. Mons barks at her, warning Skill, and Moon is shooed off.
It's Fortune who puts out blankets, spread all over the beach area for everyone to use. Moon watches her family set up for a party, for guests... real guests who are coming simply to come instead of for answers. She watches Fortune set down a large stack of very warm looking towels, and she grins.
Swimming. Damian will like the swimming.
Her wolves run up and down the beach in excitement, and Moon knows it's time.
Disappearing back to Milliways, she sets it up so people can come and go as they need to, pleased with herself and her family.

Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-03 09:07 pm (UTC)Jason smiles at him, watching his expression in the water. "Yeah, I know the feeling. I was never hard core about the ocean, but being here makes me realise how much I missed it. Must be an even bigger thrill for someone who really loves it."

Date: 2009-10-04 10:04 pm (UTC)He licks his lips looking back at the beach. "I know some nice places on the East Coast I can recommend."
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-04 10:08 pm (UTC)"Alaska, maybe." Oh, Damian would like going to Alaska. It's as close to Scandinavia's oceans as he is likely to get without risking being anywhere near his former mistress.

Date: 2009-10-04 11:36 pm (UTC)"That same time of year would mean temperatures of fifty below zero," he reminds Jason, sending a small wave of water at the werewolf as he adds, "and that's celsius."

Date: 2009-10-05 01:17 am (UTC)Oh, he could tell Jason far too many stories of torture methods in his past that utilised temperature differences. He tries to keep his thoughts in the warm, salt-scented present, however.
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 01:26 am (UTC)He looks towards shore. "Don't suppose you get tired of treading water, do you?"
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 01:38 am (UTC)"I don't suppose you have the strength to race instead of treading water, do you?"
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 01:42 am (UTC)And then he kicks off suddenly, swimming as fast as he can back to shore.
There's a reason he was never on the swim team. He's good, but nowhere near good enough.

Date: 2009-10-05 01:57 am (UTC)But having to breathe means he's getting winded easily in the surf, so Damian is gaining on him quickly.
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 02:10 am (UTC)They are almost to the shore when he finally catches up, just in time for a large wave to crest with them. It basically means one thing:
May the best body-surfer win!
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 02:24 am (UTC)He lands on the beach laughing, rolling to his back in the surf. Damn, that was fun.
Damn, is he tired.
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 02:42 am (UTC)He wasn't paying enough attention to figure out who actually won, but it doesn't matter much to him. He picks himself up just as another wave rolls around them. Making his way to Jason, he offers the wolf a hand up, still smiling.
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 03:24 am (UTC)"God, that was fun. Why the hell are we in St. Louis with no proper waves anywhere?"
Re: In the Ocean
Date: 2009-10-05 04:08 am (UTC)"I'm not sure who won, but we'll just say you did, so I can call a rematch some other time. I propose you sit and rest. I'll bring you a drink and plate of food if you like."
Damian isn't a sore loser, obviously.
